Roof Gutter Mesh
Are gutter guards worth the money? Do they work?
To the left you can see the traditional and old fashioned gutter mesh
A flimsy gutter mesh wont stop excess roof moss or pine needles
Mesh designed for roof gutters has been used for many years as a way to protect the guttering from blockages - Problem is it has never actually worked!
As you can see from the photo to the right the mesh is so flimsy that it will just collapse into the gutter under the weight of pine needles or roof moss.
Gutter grid
The gutter guard grid is the next step up from a flimsy a mesh - it is significantly more rigid and can cope with more weight on top of it.
However as the gaps in the guard are so wide smaller debris such as pine needles can still pass through.
The foam insert
The rigid foam insert offers advanced protection against blockages as it is extremely tough but the fine mesh allows almost no debris to pass through.
Please visit the gutter foam section for more information.
Gutter Hedgehog
The Hedgehog is a gutter brush that sits inside the guttering ensuring any debris is kept off the base of the gutter allowing water to run freely to the outlet.
For more information on the Hedgehog please visit the gutter brush page.
