Gutter Grid
A sturdy guttering protection product
To the left you can see the gutter grid which is a more robust product then the typical gutter mesh which is often sold in DIY or hardware stores.
What makes this guard different?
This product was designed to replace the flimsy guttering mesh that for many years was the only option when it came to protecting the gutters from blockages. The old mesh type guards were really no match to the mass of heavy wet pieces of moss which can come off a roof and settle in the guttering - the mesh simply collapsed in the gutter and provided no protection whatsover.
The gutter grid is significantly more sturdy and can easily withstand weight placed on top of it.
How to install the guard to the guttering
The guard is designed for gutter sizes between 112mm - 114mm in width so that includes most semi round and square profiled gutters. The guard itself requires no special clips and simply sits neatly in the gutter.
Pros:
- Cost effective - one of the cheapest guards available
- Easy to install even for DIY - each piece connects into the next
- No need to adjust the existing guttering in any way
- Will not collapse into the gutter when weight is placed on top of it
Cons:
- Offers little protection against pine needles
- Moss will sit on top of the guard and small particles will pass through it
- Is not fixed to the gutter so can (in theory) come loose
