Felt to Roof Eaves
What is eaves felt?
Eaves refers to the lowest part of the roof - often located in the vicinity of the guttering, where the roof overhangs the property.
Eaves felt is the roofing felt that overlaps into the guttering.
Traditional felt can be used or a more modern rigid protection system can be specified - which is often used in conjunction with a replacement upvc roofline system.
Rotten boards at eaves level
Without a sound eaves felt the top edge of the fascia board will become rotten.
This is caused by splash back from the guttering and also from any water that enters the roof via broken or chipped tiles.
Rigid eaves felt
The rigid eaves felt tray can be installed as an alternative to traditional bitumen based roofing felts.
This roof product is completely rot resistant and designed with a curved edge to guide rain water into the guttering.
The felt is often used in conjunction with eave vent products and bird stops.
